John Arthur Hall (September 16, 1877 – October 1, 1919) was an American football player and coach. He played college football for the Yale Bulldogs football team and was selected as a consensus honoree on the 1897 College Football All-America Team. He also served as the head coach of the Carlisle Indians football team in 1898. ==Early years== Hall was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in 1877. His parents were Elisha Hall and Mary (Hayden) Hall. Hall attended preparatory school at Hillhouse High School in New Haven, Connecticut.
